Drug Addiction

'Drug Addiction' refers to the habit of taking the substance that affects the nervous system. Some of the drugs are cocaine, heroin, opium, brown sugar, hashish etc. The people who are drug addicts have different drugs regularly. Nowadays, especially the young boys of towns are victimzed. They are badly intoxicated in drugs.

Nowadays, drug addiction proves to be a major and serious social problem. This problem is rapidly increasing especially in urban regions. The teenagers have been victimized by this problem. The boys of high schools and higher secondary schools are to have been drug addicts. The percentage of the school girls who have been intoxicated in drug is very low. That's why this is the major social problem among the boys who are teenagers.

Some responsible circumstances and causes have paved the way to drug addiction. The children seem to be imitating the adults' behaviours. When the adults smoke, the children are lured and they start smoking. And smokingt leads them to drug addiction. Some of the boys start taking drugs imitating the habit of their friends. Some people start taking drugs because of being pessimistic; they are hopeless about their future. The people who are fed up with life do not want to live for a long time. They want to enjoy the life taking drugs for a few days. Some of the smugglers of drugs provide the youth with drugs free of cost at the beginning. Their prime motive is to become drugs adicts, they go to the smugglers to buy the drugs. Similarly, some sadhus also take some drugs. Some of the youths go to these sadhus and learn to take drugs from them.

There are many adverse effects of drugs on the individuals and the society. The drugs addicts are most affected. The regular use of the drugs makes the addicts mentally are most affected. The regular use of the drugs makes the addicts mentally dull. They gradually become weaker and weaker. It also produces complete instability, irritation, fatigue and infertility. Some of them can be victimized of fatal diseases like AIDS and hapatitis B. Drugs are very expensive. THe drugs addicts are led to crimes. They are even ready to kill others for money to buy drugs. They steal things of others. The drugs addicts will be criminals in the society. They may even commit sucide in their extreme stage of drugs addiction.

To make their life beautiful drugs addicts should be cared properly. The drugs addicts should be cured. The programme of rehabilitation and reformation have to be started and implemented to lessen the gravity of his problem. Drugs addiction is a serious social probelm. All the sectors concerned should be responsible to solve it. Each of the parents should watch their children.

Similarly, schools and colleges can paly a votal role to solve this probelm.
